Rolling Kitten Season as Told by Betty Jo

by TerrieLynn Bach

Hey, Mmmeeeeoooooowwwwww, All You Cat Lovers,

Betty Jo here!

Ya know, long ago, my momma had kittehs.  The hoomans here, now under my dominion, got everyone, including me, “fixed”, whatever that means.  Nothing wrong with this momma! I tigress.

Any way, everyone got furever homes and I stayed here, where I now reign as Queen.

I lubz my rrroyal life here at the golf course store! Plenty of cat food, clean water, best tasting mice ever and hoomans who pay proper homage to moi, their Queen. Comfy places to curl up and sleep, catnip and best of all, no kittehs hanging on me!

My hoomans told me, to tell all of y’all hoomans, Kitteh Season is overwhelmingly brutal this year! A warm fall and a mild winter, meant that Kitteh Season 2021 rolled right into 2022 without hesitation! Rolling Kitteh Season, ha, faster than a diving mockingbird!

Pplllleeesssseee, Mewooooww, you can help by donating supplies for the hardworking Foster Parents. Izzz soo eazzzy too! Just clink on da link to order from our Wish List!

Oh and Mmeeewww! I almost forgot. So important!

Show ‘em you love ‘em!! Spay & Neuter your kitties, Hoomans!!

With Lubz From,

Betty Jo, aka Panther Kitty Diva, Hunter of Tasty Vermin

Note from TerrieLynn:

Usually cat rescuers get a break from kittens being born from December to February. Kitten Season 2021, which lasted longer due to the warmer weather through the fall, was sustained by a very mild winter and early spring. No winter kitten break for our hard-working fosters and volunteers. 2021 Kitten Season really did roll into 2022 and has kept on going!

  1. I need to find out about TNR programs that are available in Bastrop county! We’ve got a visitor who is definitely an unaltered tom, and we’re willing to feed him, but we want to get him fixed and some shots. Where should I look so we can get this stuff done as inexpensively as possible? Some roommates just want to take him to the shelter, but I think he’d be a good feral to keep around.

    1. Hi Andrea, there are 2 TNR programs in Bastrop County. Elgin Alley Cats covers Elgin, and Bastrop CATS (that’s us) covers the rest of the County. If you are not in Elgin you can send us an email to BastropCats@gmail.com, be sure to include your location and phone number. You can also contact us through the website through the “contact us” link. FYI You can also let your roommates know that the shelter does not take grown cats, only kittens 1-3 mos old.
