In late November, one of our partner vets reached out to us about a sweet adolescent kitty that had been brought in by some folks that found him injured on the streets of Bastrop.
His rear leg was broken badly and at an awkward angle. The kind finders were unable to afford the medical care he needed so the doctor called us to see if we could help.
Bastrop C.A.T.S. often helps cats in the community with major injuries. And this boy needed an amputation of the affected leg.
Since cats can live full happy lives as tripods, our volunteer went to assess and meet our newest medical case. There, she found a very friendly kitten that was so eager for attention and love that he kept winding around to get closer to her. Aptly, she named him Slinky!
Slinky’s amputation went well, and one of the wonderful volunteers fostered Slinky until he was ready to go to an adoption center with another rescue partner who specializes in adoption programs.
Thanks to donations from our supporters like you, we can continue our mission to better the lives of homeless cats and kittens in the Bastrop area.
