We left Kevin last month about to get his second surgery.
Prior to the surgery, the surgeon examined him. Breaking our hearts, she forlornly had to inform us that this second surgery would leave him incontinent, revoking his status as a recommended patient for surgery.
Clinging to our hope, Bastrop C.A.T.S. reached out to Austin Pets Alive for help, but their vets’ determination was that the pythiosis had grown into his colon and was not operable.
Sadly, Kevin is in hospice care with another foster for however long he has quality of life.
He still plays, eats, enjoys cuddles, and loves to watch his bird videos. So, for now, every day is a gift.
Thank you to everyone for your support in helping this little guy. It’s a sad news day that we have to share this. Hug your loved ones –furred and unfurred– today.
So sorry to hear about Kevin I hope he enjoys what time he has left
He is very loved. Thank you
